SpareChange has been part of Australian homes for over 40 years. It all started with a simple idea: why should great quality cost a fortune? We opened our first store in Melbourne as a wholesale warehouse for everyday essentials — no fancy fit-outs, no unnecessary overheads — just honest value that lets you stretch every spare dollar further. That's where our name comes from.

Over the decades, we grew our range from everyday household goods into a full homewares and furniture destination. At our peak, we had more than 20 stores across Melbourne and its surrounds, bringing affordable, quality living to thousands of Australian families.

Like many businesses, we faced the challenges of the pandemic years, and our store footprint changed. But our values never did. Today, SpareChange operates four stores — three in Melbourne and one right here in Ballarat — and we're as committed as ever to bringing you the best quality at the best price.
